Whitcraft Engineering, as subcontractor to Mitchell J Architecture, Inc., sealed architect’s electrical and grounding construction documents, June 2015.

• Responded to RFI based on inspector’s rejection of contractor’s installation.
  • Inspector stated that equipment installed near hospital rooftop helipad did not comply with the construction design documents.
  • Contractor stated that it installed the non-compliant wiring because a separate ground wire would create a trip hazard near the helicopter pad.
• Whitcraft Engineering’s Recommendation: Based on research of Motorola’s transmitter ground requirement documents, WES directed the contractor to install as indicated in electrical drawings with wires encased in a conduit.
